The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced N8,784,085.59k as the new Hajj fare for the 2025 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the state.

The new fare was announced by the board’s secretary, Mr Saheed Onipede, following the announcement of the 2025 Hajj fare by the Chairman/CEO National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman.

NAHCON had announced between N8.4m and N8.7m as the fare for this year’s Hajj while giving a deadline of February 5 for intending pilgrims to complete the fare, reports Daily Trust.

The Director of Public Affairs, Mr Taofeek Lawal, in a statement, said the board urges intending pilgrims who had completely paid the initial deposit of N8.5m to endeavour to pay the balance of N284,085.59k while those who have already obtained the intention form but have yet to pay the initial deposit to commence payment immediately so as to be accommodated for the exercise.

While urging every intending pilgrim to pay the Hajj fare on or before the deadline of January 31, 2025, Onipede emphasised that NAHCON arrived at a specific fare for the respective zones in the country after approval by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
