•Protesters
Workers at the West African Examination Council (WAEC) headquarters in Yaba, Lagos have embarked on a peaceful protest to press for salary increase.
One of the protesting employees who pleaded for anonymity informed The Frontier that workers of the Continental establishment in Nigeria have been pleading with the management to increase their salaries to cushion the challenging economic crisis in the country, to no avail.
“Today we have decided to embark on this protest to press home our demand. We are not covered by the new minimum wage for civil servants in Nigeria but we all buy from the same market. Is it out of place for the management in Nigeria to look into our plight?,” said our source.
Efforts made to reach the management were not successful as all the advertised telephone lines on the establishment’s website kept saying, “you are not allowed to call this line”.
