How Google’s new ‘Circle to Search’ is stepping up Nigeria’s fashion game

The FrontierThe FrontierFebruary 28, 2026 1272 Minutes read0

If you’ve ever scrolled through Instagram and taken a screenshot of a ‘killer’ outfit on a fashion influencer, you know the struggle. You spend the next forty minutes hunting through hashtags, tags and various websites, trying to find that specific shade of adire or those exact architectural heels.

Well, the hunt just became a whole lot shorter.

As of February 26, Google has officially turned the fashion hunt into a seamless digital reality. With the latest Android update rolling out across Nigeria, Google’s Circle to Search (CtS) has evolved from a simple search tool into a sophisticated personal stylist tucked right inside your pocket.

The headline feature, “Find the Look,” is a game-changer for the Nigerian fashion community. No longer are you limited to searching for one item at a time. Using the reasoning power of Gemini 3, the tool can now break down a complex image into multiple shoppable results simultaneously.

Imagine seeing a photo of a complete vibe, a structured blazer paired with a silk camisole and hand-crafted leather mules. Instead of searching for them individually, you can now circle the entire outfit. Google’s AI then identifies every single element—the top, the jacket, the shoes— and provides links for each item all at once, without you ever having to leave the app you’re in.

Harsh Kharbanda, Director of Product Management for Google Search, noted that sometimes people are looking for a whole vibe rather than just one thing. Whether someone is building an outfit or a mood board, Circle to Search is now more helpful by identifying unique items and explaining the context behind them.

Advanced Technology

The new experience uses the reasoning capabilities of Gemini 3. By using a “visual query fan-out” technique, the model identifies the important parts of an image, runs several searches at once, and compiles a final response.

For a fashion-forward Nigerian, this means more time spent rocking the clothes and less time searching for them. It bridges the gap between digital inspiration and physical wardrobe, making global and local trends instantly accessible.

This ‘style concierge’ however isn’t available for everyone just yet. The feature is currently rolling out on premium Android devices, ensuring that the heavy lifting of the Gemini 3 AI is smooth and instantaneous.

For StyleManiacs, style is a language and looking good is a full-time job, this update is more than just tech — it’s a lifestyle upgrade.

Whether you’re trying to replicate a look from the latest Fashion Week or just want to know where to find the perfect white shirt to pair with your Ankara, Google has officially made the search as effortless as the style.
