UTIBE-IMA OKON, Uyo reporting
Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has paid an emotional tribute to his late wife, Pastor Mrs Patience Umo Eno, as the family marked her second-year memorial service at All Nations Christian Ministry International, Eket, today, Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Speaking at the memorial service, Governor Eno reflected on the 40 years he shared with his late wife, describing her as a devoted companion, confidant, friend and partner in the journey of family and faith.
The governor also read excerpts of his tribute contained in the foreword of a book titled, The Patience to Build, written in honour of his late wife.

“For forty years, I had the privilege of sharing life with her as my wife, companion, confidant, friend, and partner in the journey of family and faith. Forty years is a long time, yet when I look back, it seems both a lifetime and a moment.”

Governor Eno recalled the joys, sorrows, triumphs and trials they experienced together, saying Mrs Patience Eno remained a remarkable woman whose influence extended beyond their home.

He described the book as a precious testimony from their daughter, Helen, preserving memories and lessons about a woman whose greatest investment was not in material possessions or achievements, but in her children and family.
The governor said although his wife was no longer physically present, her values continued to live through their children and the many lives she touched.

“My wife may no longer be physically present with us, but the evidence of her life surrounds us. I see her in our children. I see her in the values they carry.”
Governor Eno said her legacy remained alive through the kindness, courage, resilience and faith she helped cultivate in the family, expressing gratitude to God for the years they shared.

“You were loved deeply. You are missed profoundly. And you will be remembered eternally. Forever in our hearts. Adieu, my beloved Kemi. Your UB.”
In a short exhortation, Apostle Samuel Effiong said although the late First Lady was no longer alive, her impact continued through the lives she touched.
He urged Christians to live purposeful lives that would leave positive memories after death, stressing that “the memory of the just is blessed.”
Apostle Effiong also encouraged Christians to build legacies that would benefit future generations, noting that a life well lived could leave lasting value for their children and society.

The memorial service featured special musical ministrations by Jayne Jesus, Reho Sax and Harmonic Voices, as well as a memorial thanksgiving by the First Family.

A major highlight of the service was the unveiling of The Patience to Build, a book written in honour of the late First Lady and documenting aspects of her life, family and legacy.
Pastor Mrs Patience Umo Eno died on September 26, 2024 and was later laid to rest in November that year.

The second-year memorial service brought together family members, friends, associates and well-wishers to honour her memory and celebrate the legacy she left behind.
