As part of the ongoing maritime reconstruction project in Oron, Governor Umo Eno has commenced the construction of a shoreline protection, spanning 550 meters (five-and-a-half football fields) along the Oron riverbank.
The project is designed to mitigate coastal erosion, riverbank failure that can endanger adjoining land, and halt further landslides threatening the riverbank communities.
The shoreline protection barriers represent one of the key highlights of the governor’s infrastructure intervention in the maritime sector, underscoring his administration’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental safety.
