JAMB lists 3 reasons candidates miss out on matriculation list

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has explained three reasons candidates may not find their names on its matriculation list.

JAMB gave the explanation in an explainer video shared on its official X handle today, highlighting the issues candidates should check if their names are missing.

According to the board, the first reason is the most common, while the third is the most important.

“Number one is the most common, while number three is the most important. You have not accepted your admission on JAMB CAPS or your admission status reads not admitted,” JAMB said.

The board said candidates whose admission status shows “not admitted” should return to their institutions to have their admissions processed.

“If it reads not admitted, return to your institution to process your admission,” it stated.

JAMB also explained that a candidate’s name may be absent from the matriculation list if the institution has not forwarded the candidate’s verified matriculation details to the board.

“Your institution admission office has not forwarded your verified matriculation details to JAMB,” the board said.

It therefore advised affected candidates to contact their institutions and ensure their admissions are properly processed through the Central Admissions Processing System, known as JAMB CAPS.

The third reason identified by the board is failure to print the JAMB original result slip and admission letter.

“You have not printed your JAMB original results slip and admission letter,” JAMB said.

The board advised candidates in this category to visit the nearest JAMB office or an approved Computer-Based Test centre to print the required documents.

“So visit the nearest JAMB office or approved CBT centre and get it printed,” it advised.

JAMB urged candidates to follow its official social media platforms for further updates and guidance on the matriculation list.
