The FrontierThe FrontierFebruary 6, 2026 1451 Minutes read0

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released an adjusted timetable and schedule of activities for its 2026 nationwide congresses, national convention and related exercises, fixing February and March 2026 for the series of party congresses and elections.

According to the schedule issued today by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, ward and local government(LG) congress activities will commence with membership e-registration from Saturday, January 31 to Sunday, February 8, 2026, while the purchase and submission of forms for ward and LG congresses will run from Wednesday, February 4 to Monday, February 9.

Screening of aspirants for ward and LG party positions is slated for Wednesday, February 11 to Thursday, February 12, with ward congresses holding on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Local government congresses, including the election of three delegates—one of whom must be female—to the national convention, are scheduled for Saturday, February 21.

At the state level, the purchase of forms for state executive positions will take place from Sunday, February 22 to Wednesday, February 25, while state congresses are fixed for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

The party said zonal congresses will hold on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, across the six geo-political zones, with venues listed as Ibadan (South West), Enugu (South East), Rivers/Cross River (South South), Kaduna (North West), Gombe/Bauchi (North East) and Nasarawa (North Central).

The APC national convention is scheduled for Friday, March 27 to Saturday, March 28, 2026.

The party also released the cost of expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants at all levels.

For ward positions, expression of interest attracts ₦5,000, while nomination forms range from ₦15,000 to ₦20,000.

At the local government level, expression of interest costs ₦10,000, with nomination forms ranging from ₦50,000 to ₦100,000.

For state offices, expression of interest is ₦50,000, while nomination forms cost up to ₦1 million for state chairman and ₦500,000 for other positions.

At the national level, expression of interest is ₦100,000, while nomination forms are pegged at ₦10 million for national chairman, ₦7.5 million for deputy national chairman and national secretary, and ₦5 million for other offices.

The party noted that female aspirants, youths and persons with disabilities are required to pay only the expression of interest fee and 50 per cent of the prescribed nomination fee.

It added that Ekiti, Osun, Rivers States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are excluded from ward, LG and state congresses but will participate in the election of three delegates each to the national convention.
