The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE has opened its initial public offering (IPO), giving investors an opportunity to acquire shares in Nigeria’s largest refinery.
The ₦2.15 trillion ($1.6 billion) offer, which opened on Monday, September 14, 2026, involves the sale of 4.1 billion ordinary shares at ₦525 per share.
The offer is being described as Nigeria’s largest-ever public share sale.
President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, signed the offer documents today at an opening ceremony held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, alongside advisers and issuing houses managing the transaction.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dangote said the IPO was designed to give ordinary Nigerians an opportunity to own a stake in the refinery.
“What we are trying to achieve is to make sure our drivers, cooks, servants, and everybody have the opportunity of having stakes in the refinery,” Dangote said.
The official application list opened on September 14 and is scheduled to close on October 13, 2026.
Investors can subscribe to a minimum of 10 shares, with the minimum investment set at ₦5,250.
The IPO represents a major step in broadening public ownership of the Dangote refinery and providing Nigerian investors with direct exposure to one of the country’s largest industrial assets.
