JUST IN: Many feared dead as gunmen again invade Adamawa community

The FrontierThe FrontierMarch 23, 2024 3040 Minutes read0

•Gunmen

Scores are feared killed as gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents stormed into Garkida, Community, a town in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa state, in the late hours of last night.

The gunmen were reported to have been shooting sparodically at the unsuspecting residents of the town, reports Saturday Sun.

Locals told our correspondent that they spent the entire night on the mountains where they fled for safety.

According to a source, a resident of Garkida, “Right now no one can tell you about the number of casualties because everyone just ran for safety but the gunmen were large in number, even the military could not stand them and they were heavily armed.

“But later in the day, we should be able to ascertain the extent of damage.

“This is not the first time this is happening, we have become victims, they just come in, attack, destroy our properties, take whatever they want and we always return to pick up the pieces of our lives from whatever they left for us.”
