Kano govt orders caretaker chairmen to reside in their local govt areas

•Kano State governor, Abba Yusuf

Kano State Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has directed all the 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs) Caretaker Committee Chairmen to reside or relocate to their designated LGAs.

Gwarzo issued the directive while receiving defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) from Shanono at Government House, Kano, reports Daily Sun.

Gwarzo, who doubles as the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, emphasised the need for the chairmen to be readily available in their designated LGAs.

He warned that the government would not tolerate absentee leadership style, adding that it would embark on unscheduled visits to LGAs to assess the dedication of the chairmen to their assigned duties.

He assured the people of the administration’s commitment to programs that benefit all areas of the state while urging them to support the administration.
