Lagos announces night traffic diversion for truck barrier installation

The FrontierThe FrontierJanuary 9, 2026 1310 Minutes read0

The Lagos State government has announced a night traffic diversion at Fadeyi inward Donmanlong and Donmanlong inward Ojuelegba, for the installation of truck barriers.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said this in a statement made available to the press today in Lagos.

Osiyemi noted that the diversion would be between Saturday January 10 by 10pm and Sunday January 11 by 6am.

“Consequently, motorists are advised to use the highlighted route during the nighttime installation of the barriers.

“Motorists from Fadeyi Donmanlong Bridge/Ayilara inbound Ojuelegba are to make use of the service lane from Fadeyi/Jibowu/Empire/Donmanlong to link Barracks to access their desired destinations,” he said.

Osiyemi implored motorists to be patient at the installation area.

He said the brief closure of the bridge planned for nighttime was part of a traffic management strategy to avert accidents and loss of lives.

He further urged motorists to stop vandalism and damage to truck barriers.
