“As I instructed, Special Squad Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC)/kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) today took enforcement action against street hawkers and handcart pushers hindering the free flow of traffic and constituting environmental nuisances,” Wahab wrote.

He added that the arrests took place at Iyana Ipaja, Oshodi, Obanibasiri, Airport road and 7&8.

Other places affected were Okota, Oke Afa, Jakande Gate, Ijegun Road, Ikotun, Igando and Egbeda areas.

In the process, some of the environmental defaulters were arrested and taken to the LAGESC/KAI headquarters in Oshodi for interrogation and prosecution.
