LG election: Drama in Lagos area as officials stranded, trek to polling units

The FrontierThe FrontierJuly 12, 2025 1090 Minutes read0

•Electoral officials trek to polling units

A mild drama ensued at the Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area of Lagos State today, as election officials were left stranded.

Our correspondent on the ground to cover the polls observed that presiding officers and election staff as of 9:30am were unable to leave for their stations, due to an inadequate number of vehicles to convey them, reports Channels TV.

After speaking to one of the officers, it appeared that the transport provider had been asked to provide a certain number of buses, which he claimed he did.

However, the buses were not enough to convey all the election officers, as some were seen struggling to get into the few buses.

While others hung on the buses, others were captured trekking to their various polling stations.

One said, “They told us it’s not far from here, so we can trek there”.
