Kylian Mbappe has reportedly ruled out a move to the Premier League this summer, ending the tentative hopes Liverpool may have had on completing a deal.
The Reds have been tentatively linked with a move for Mbappe ever since he first left Monaco to join Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. Since then, every transfer window has seemingly had at least one rumour that Liverpool would make a move to sign the talented forward, reports AFP.
Mbappes’s contract with PSG is set to expire at the end of the season, meaning he is currently free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside France for the summer. That has led to speculation that Liverpool could sign the 2018 World Cup winner on a free transfer, with Real Madrid also reportedly in the running.
A report from Caught Offside has stated, though, that there is “no chance” for Liverpool to sign Mbappe this summer. This is because Mbappe has ruled out moving to the Premier League at the end of the season, and has the same stance for the Saudi Pro League, too.
The report states that Real Madrid are the only club that Mbappe is likely to join, in the event he leaves PSG. A contract offer has been proposed to Mbappe from PSG, it has been claimed, which will run until 2027 – although it has yet to be accepted by the forward.
Should Mbappe leave PSG, it has been claimed that the Ligue 1 club will look to replace the forward with Rafael Leao from AC Milan. As things stand, though, Mbappe is yet to state what the future will hold for him beyond this season, with various reports stating that a decision is expected to be announced within the next couple of weeks.
