The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded over 25 percent of the results from the Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing (IReV) portal.
The uploading began shortly after voting ended at several polling units across the state, following the conclusion of the voting period, reports Saturday Vanguard.
INEC had fixed 2:30 p.m. as the closing time for voting in the election.
As of the time of filing this report, out of 3763 polling units in the state, results from 1011 had been uploaded to the IReV portal, representing 26.87 percent of the total results expected.
The development signals the commencement of the electronic transmission and public viewing of polling unit results as officials proceed with the collation of results from the election.
The IReV portal allows members of the public and other stakeholders to view results uploaded from polling units, providing greater transparency in the electoral process.
