Our price went up after Big Brother Naija — Wanni

Wanni, one half of twin sisters and disc jockeys— Wanni X Handi — has said that the cost of booking them for gigs has gone up significantly, especially after they became popular courtesy of their participation in the reality TV show, Big Brother Naija.

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, Wanni said, “Before BBN, we were getting gigs, but now, we are getting more shows. Also, our price has gone up because more people know us, and there are more opportunities,” reports Saturday PUNCH.

Expressing excitement that the popular awards ceremony — Headies— is returning to Nigeria, Wanni said, “It is amazing. The Headies has been happening for about 17 years now, and it is like the ‘core’ of afrobeats here in Nigeria. It is good that they are returning to base, and we get to experience such an amazing programme at home.”

Shedding light on why they decided to pursue a career as DJs, Wanni had said in an earlier interview, “It just felt natural. It felt like food to be a DJ. As females, it felt like unapologetically owning that space, and it has been amazing. I cannot wait for what the future holds for the brand.”
