PDP crisis: National Assembly caucus in closed door meeting with BoT

The FrontierThe FrontierSeptember 19, 2024 3400 Minutes read0

As part of the ongoing efforts towards resolving the lingering crisis rocking the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), members of the Board of Trustees are currently holding a closed-door meeting with the party’s caucus in the National Assembly.

The BoT which prides itself as the conscience of the party has been worried about the state of affairs, reports Daily Trust.

Several stakeholders have met to resolve the impasse.

Before the ongoing meeting, the Senator Adolphus Wabara-led BoT had met with the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

They have also met with the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Yesterday, the BoT members met with the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who is also the Chairman, PDP Governors Forum.

The defeat of Wike in the last presidential primary, the continued stay of the acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, in office are some of the issues.

The meeting between the National Assembly Caucus and the BoT is taking place at the PDP office, Legacy House, in Maitama, Abuja.

Party stakeholders are hoping that the series of meetings will bring an end to the intractable crisis in the party.
