Police confirm kidnap of former minister Adelabu’s sister and twin sons, launch manhunt on abductors

The Oyo State Police Command has commenced intensive investigations into the abduction of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke, sister of a former Minister of Power, and her twin sons, who were reportedly kidnapped in Ibadan earlier today.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Command confirmed the incident and assured residents that efforts were underway to secure the safe rescue of the victims.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State immediately directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Challenge Division, alongside other tactical teams, to proceed to the scene of the incident after receiving the report.

The police disclosed that the victims’ vehicle had been recovered, while intensive investigations and search operations had commenced to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims unharmed.

“The Oyo State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the abduction of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke and her twin sons, who were reportedly abducted earlier today,” the statement read.

The Command further assured the public that all necessary resources had been deployed to facilitate the rescue operation and ensure that those responsible for the crime are apprehended and brought to justice.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the abduction are ongoing.

The Police Command urged residents to remain calm, law-abiding, and cooperative by providing credible information that could assist security agencies in their efforts to rescue the victims and arrest the perpetrators.

DSP Olayinka reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state, assuring residents that updates would be provided as investigations progress.
