Popular food critic calls out Cubana Chiefpriest over alleged life threats

The FrontierThe FrontierSeptember 13, 2024 3621 Minutes read0

•Cubana Chiefpriest and Opeyemi Famakin

Popular food critic, Opeyemi Famakin, recently went on social media to call out Cubana Chiefpriest, a well-known entertainment figure, for allegedly threatening his life.

Famakin shared his review online after dining at Cubana Chiefpriest’s restaurant in Imo State on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, reports Daily Independent.

Despite praising the restaurant’s atmosphere and design, Famakin criticised the pre-made and microwaved pastries.

Cubana Chiefpriest initially thanked Famakin for his visit in an Instagram post, calling him a “Foodie” and wishing him well.

However, tensions escalated yesterday, Thursday, September 12, 2024, when Famakin accused Chiefpriest of issuing threats following the review and provided screenshots of their conversations as evidence.

In the screenshot, Chiefpriest wrote, “Karma is real, you must pay for whatever you sow in life. I don’t fight lowlifes, I leave them to karma. The business you did your wicked review for is owned by a 6-year-old.”

Captioning the screenshot, Famakin called on the public to hold Chiefpriest accountable if any harm befell him.

He wrote, “I know a threat when I see one. I guess it’s time to leave Imo State ASAP. If anything happens to me while I am here, well, you know who to hold. I love how he was polite in the comment section for the world to see, but it was a different tone in my DMs.”
