Officer Cadet, Owowoh Princess Oluchukwu, is a trailblazing figure in the Nigerian military, having achieved the distinction of becoming the first-ever Nigerian female officer to graduate from the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in the United Kingdom.

At the age of 24, she stood out among 135 Officer Cadets during the Sovereign’s Parade, marking the culmination of 44 weeks of rigorous training as part of Commissioning Course 232, reports Nigerian Tribune.

Her journey to this historic achievement began in 2018 when she joined the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Throughout her time at the NDA, Princess demonstrated exceptional leadership and academic prowess, earning successive appointments such as Cadet Lance Corporal, Cadet Sergeant, and ultimately, Company Senior under Officer Charlie (CSUO C) in her fifth year. Notably, she, along with two other female counterparts, made history by being the first females to assume the position of CSUO in the academy.

Princess’ academic excellence was highlighted by her completion of the Academics Wing of the commissioning course during her fourth year, where she attained first-class honors in Biological Sciences.

Her dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to excellence have been recognized not only by her peers and instructors but also by her family, mentors, and countless individuals who supported her every step of the way.

In her statement following her graduation, Princess Owowoh expressed deep gratitude for the support she received and affirmed her commitment to representing Nigeria with pride while striving to make a positive difference in the world.

Her achievement not only breaks barriers but also serves as an inspiration for future generations of Nigerian women aspiring to serve in the military.

As she embarks on her military career, Officer Cadet Owowoh Princess Oluchukwu stands as a symbol of resilience, determination, and excellence, poised to leave an indelible mark on the Nigerian military and beyond.
