•Abducted Akwa Ibom Youth Corps members

Thr last of the Eight prospective National Youth Service, NYSC, member, from Akwa Ibom State, Solomon Bassey Daniel, kidnapped in Zamfara state has finally regained his freedom.

A family member, Mr Umoh who confirmed this to our correspondent, said he received the good news today morning in Eket Local Government area where he went to work, reports Vanguard.

Umoh who could not hide his excitement and joy over the development said he gathered that his son Daniel was freed from captivity yesterday, Thursday, August 22.

“We were told last week that my boy will be freed this week. As at yesterday (Thursday) we didn’t hear anything. But I got the information this morning that he regained his freedom on Thursday. I give God all the glory,” he simply said.

Recall that Bassey Daniel, the only son and an indigene of Afahaube Itam, in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State was kidnapped alongside other seven prospective corps members exactly on August 17, 2023 on their way to Sokoto Orientation camp.
