Seasoned Nigerian actress, Mama G, also known as Patience Ozokwor, has opened up about her life and the difficulties she encountered before the fame.

Speaking at the pre-premiere dinner for Funke Akindele’s movie ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’, Mama G disclosed that prior to her current success, she worked at a number of odd jobs to support her family, reports Daily Independent.

”I used to go to the morgue to dress dead bodies so my children could go to school and eat. I did a lot of things to make my family what they are today.

“You know they say no prophet is accepted in his town but in my own place, they appreciate me a lot because they saw me through all these things.

“That’s the way I see Funke. When I see her, I look at myself. She’s a replica of who I am.”

Recently, Patience Ozokwo was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Theatre and Media Arts, she expressed her Joy and gratitude highlighting sacrifices she made to get where she is.

The Achievers Networks Academy in the UK gave the award, which also honoured Yoruba film industry titans Adebayo Salami and Jide Kosoko for their significant contributions to Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

Celebrities, friends, family, and dignitaries were present for the ceremony on Saturday at the Aderinokun Lecture Theatre in Akoka, which is part of the University of Lagos.

For their important contributions to making Nollywood a worldwide sensation, the honorees received recognition.
