REVEALED: Why my mother never saw me perform on stage before her death – Music star Mr. Eazi

The FrontierThe FrontierSeptember 5, 2026 850 Minutes read0

•Mr. Eazi

Nigerian music star Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has revealed that his mother never saw him perform on stage before her death.

The ‘Leg Over’ singer disclosed this during an appearance on the ‘Brut Podcast,’ where he spoke about his mother’s support for his music career and her reluctance to travel.

Mr Eazi said his mother was conservative and disliked travelling, which made it difficult for her to attend his performances in different parts of the world.

“Unfortunately, my mom never got to watch me perform on stage before she passed away. She was very conservative in general. She didn’t like travelling, not even from Lagos to Accra,” he said.

Despite her reluctance to travel, the singer said his mother remained supportive of his career and encouraged him through prayers until her death in 2025.

Mr Eazi did not disclose further details about her death but said losing her remained a painful experience for him.

The singer rose to international prominence in 2016 and has since performed across Africa, Europe, the United States and Asia.

Beyond music, Mr Eazi is also involved in technology and philanthropy through his emPawa Africa initiative.
