•Late Herbert and Doreen

The United States authorities have released images from the site of the tragic crash that killed the Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe, and five others.

In the photos released yesterday, two officials of the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) were seen inspecting the debris of the ill-fated helicopter, reports AFP.

Wigwe, his wife, Doreen; their son, Chizi Wigwe; and former Nigerian Exchange Group Chairman, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, crashed in an Airbus EC130 helicopter close to the California-Nevada border near Halloran Springs.

The four passengers and two crew members on board the ill-fated helicopter died on Friday, February 9.

The images, released after Michael Graham, a board member with the NTSB, said they had visited the site and outlined the activities conducted on the first full day of investigation at the accident site, show NTSB officials observing the wreckage at the site.

Graham emphasised the agency’s commitment to a meticulous examination of the scene, saying the team conducted aerial drone mapping and documented the wreckage.

He stated that various electronic devices and onboard equipment were recovered at the scene for further examination and analysis.

Since then, there has been an outpouring of grief from many Nigerians, including President Bola Tinubu, and many state governors who described the incident as a rude shock.

•The late couple

Prominent Nigerians including ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Femi Otedola, ministers and governors, amongst others, have paid tributes to the deceased persons.
