Suspected terrorists have abducted a resident, identified as Yusuf Bazamfare, and set ablaze a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps outpost, a brothel, and one residential building during an attack in Kebbi State.

The attack occurred on Saturday night in the Tsamiya community in the Bagudo Local Government Area of the state, reports The PUNCH.

The incident was confirmed in a statement issued yesterday by the spokesperson of the Kebbi State Police Command, Bashir Usman.

The statement read, “The assailants invaded the area, fired sporadically, and set ablaze a makeshift checkpoint belonging to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, a local brothel, and the residence of one Sule Mai Goge. One Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare was also kidnapped during the incident.”

Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Kebbi State ordered the immediate deployment of additional security personnel to the area to strengthen security and safeguard lives and property.

The command added that efforts were ongoing to rescue the abducted victim and track down those responsible for the attack.

“The police, in collaboration with other security agencies, have commenced investigations and intensified operations aimed at rescuing the kidnapped victim and bringing the perpetrators to justice,” the statement added.

Residents were urged to remain calm and continue providing useful information to security agencies to support ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities in the area.
