President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today visited Kaduna State on a one-day working tour, where he commissioned a series of infrastructure projects in the Rigachikun area of Igabi Local Government, aimed at boosting rural development and improving access to essential services.

Tinubu, who touched down at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Kaduna around midday, was received by Governor Uba Sani, top state officials, traditional rulers, and a cheering crowd of residents, reports The Guardian.

Shortly after his arrival, the president travelled to Rigachikun, where he inaugurated newly completed road networks, upgraded healthcare facilities, and modernised schools as part of Kaduna State’s broader initiative to close development gaps between urban and rural communities.

Speaking during the event, President Tinubu commended the Kaduna State Government for what he described as “purposeful leadership focused on grassroots transformation,” stressing that infrastructure was key to unlocking prosperity and enhancing social inclusion across Nigeria.

“These projects reflect our shared vision of a Nigeria where no community is left behind. Development must reach the people where they are, and today we are seeing that commitment in action here in Rigachikun,” Tinubu said.

Governor Sani described the visit as a morale booster for his administration, noting that the President’s presence affirmed federal support for Kaduna’s local development agenda.

He also assured residents that similar projects would be replicated in other parts of the state to ensure balanced growth.

Security was heightened in Kaduna throughout the visit, with combined forces from the Nigerian Police, Civil Defence, and military maintaining a strong presence at key locations to ensure safety.

The presidential motorcade drew large crowds in parts of the city, with residents lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the president.

President Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja later in the day after completing his engagements in the state.
