The FrontierThe FrontierJune 19, 2026 311 Minutes read0

The Division D, District 130 of the Toastmasters calendar will tomorrow hold one of the most anticipated leadership and communication recognition events, DEAR Awards Night, at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

The event will celebrate outstanding achievements in leadership, communication excellence, club growth, mentorship, and service across all areas within Division D.

According to the organisers, the DEAR Awards Night will not only honour exceptional Toastmasters but will also serve as a grand platform for inspiration, networking, and renewed commitment to excellence within the Division.

Division Director, Abubakar Gimba, described the DEAR Awards as a celebration of consistency, growth, and the transformative power of effective communication.

He noted that Toastmasters continues to play a vital role in shaping leaders who are impacting their workplaces, communities, and society at large.

Also , the Chairman of the DEAR 2027 Awards Committee, Toastmaster Kelvin Uveki, expressed excitement about the upcoming ceremony, describing it as a landmark event that reflects the dedication and hard work of members across the Division.

He highlighted that this year’s edition will feature a wider range of award categories aimed at recognizing excellence at every level of engagement.

A major highlight of the evening will be the grand finale of the Inter-Area Debate Competition, where finalist teams will showcase exceptional oratory, critical thinking, and persuasive communication skills in a keenly contested intellectual showdown.

The event will be graced by distinguished guests, with the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, expected as Special Guest of Honour, alongside other dignitaries from public service, corporate organisations, and the Toastmasters community.

The DEAR Awards Night promises to be a memorable gathering of leaders, communicators, and changemakers, as Division D celebrates excellence and reaffirms its commitment to building better speakers and stronger leaders.

As anticipation builds ahead of the weekend, members and guests are expected to converge at the prestigious MUSON Centre for an evening of recognition, inspiration, and celebration of impact.
