2027: North East youths warn APC against dropping Vice President Shettima

The FrontierThe FrontierAugust 3, 2025 1861 Minutes read0

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Parliament, North East, has warned the party against dropping the vice president, Kashim Shettima, from the 2027 presidential ticket of President Bola Tinubu.

The group during a town hall meeting meeting in Bauchi, said that: “We want to state it unequivocally clear that, any attempt to reconfigure the joint ticket of His Excellency, Bola Ahmad Tinubu/Kashim Shettima in 2027 will only bring resentment that could linger beyond the elections with its negative reverberation which could trigger with the party’s success.

“It’s far from being hidden that the ghost of the previous actions of PDP is the one still haunting the party in the country, today – History has only little patience for those who choose to ignore its lessons,” the chairman of the group, Kabiru Garba Kobi, said while speaking.

The group said that it believed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is worthy of trust, who comes with the vision of rescuing the country from bad governance, fragile economic policies, and excessive greed, reports Sunday Guardian.

“We saw and appreciated the way he emphasised the need for difficult decisions, confronting economic realities, which may cause temporary discomfort but are essential for long-term stability and stealth growth. Therefore, we all see the need to rally around our support behind them to build a country with all it takes to compete with others in growth in all ramifications.”

The youths declared their support and endorsed the Tinubu/Kashim ticket in 2027, and “we will continue to promote this. This is because the ticket is tested and trusted by all.”
