The FrontierThe FrontierOctober 21, 2024 3151 Minutes read0

A non-governmental organisation, Agbonjague Leemon Ikpea Foundation has given 50 scholarships to students of the University of Benin and Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

The foundation’s Executive Director, Difference Irabor, today, said that 21 of the scholarships would go to indigent students from UNIBEN, while the remaining 29 would go to students of AAU, reports The PUNCH.

He said since the inception of the scholarship award in the 2012/2013 academic session, several beneficiaries have been trained from secondary to tertiary institutions across different states of Nigeria including artisans.

He said the 2023/2024 annual academic session scholarship award covers the different amounts of tuition fees across various institutions of learning.

Irabor stated that the Agbonjague Leemon Ikpea Foundation which is detribalized and apolitical, is geared towards securing a brighter future and overall wellbeing for the youths across the country.

He said, “The foundation is giving 21 of the scholarships to indigent students from UNIBEN, while the remaining 29 would go to students of AAU, which makes it 50.

“Several beneficiaries have been trained from secondary to tertiary institutions across different states of Nigeria, including artisans, since the inception of the scheme in the 2023/2024 academic session.”

Some beneficiaries, Idialu Marvelous and Longe Greatness who spoke on behalf of others, thanked the founder of the foundation, Leemon Ikpea, Chairman, Managing Director of Lee Engineering Group and Allied Companies Ltd, for putting smiles on the faces of the needy.

Parents and guardians of the beneficiaries were not left out in appreciating the foundation for his kind gestures.
