At least nine people were reportedly killed in a road crash along the Ijebu-Ode/Ore Expressway yesterday.
It was gathered that the crash occurred around 4:55 pm, involving a white Toyota Hiace commercial bus marked 14B-299DT, belonging to Delta Line, and a white Sino Truck commercial vehicle, with registration number AAB162XD.
The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Command, Afolabi Odunsi, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to newsmen last night.
He said a total of nine people, comprising three males and six females, were involved in the crash.
“Sadly, all nine persons were killed in the incident,” Odunsi said.
He explained that “The crash occurred while it was raining, with the road pavement wet.
“The road itself was paved. Preliminary investigation identified speed violation (SPV) as the probable cause of the crash.”
According to him, the deceased were evacuated and deposited at the General Hospital Morgue, Ijebu-Ode, while the vehicles involved were towed to the Ilese Police Station by the Ilese Police.
