•Shettima and Tinubu
The Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria (SCSN) has alleged that even though it supported the Muslim-Muslim ticket and mobilised for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the presidential election, the government has allegedly neglected them.
Speaking in an interview, Secretary of the SCSN, Dr Nafiu Baba Ahmed, said they would look at the situation they found themselves in and not repeat the “mistake made” in due course, reports Vanguard.
“Those who never supported the Muslim-Muslim ticket are the ones benefiting from the government,” he alleged.
According to him, “It’s like we helped push a vehicle, and the vehicle just dusted us and sped off.
“We told the president that the administration was not fair to us, the Muslims. We’ve been sidelined. We shall have a rethink next time,” he said.
Baba Ahmed said Muslims were not treated fairly by the incumbent administration, commensurate with the contribution they made to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu occupied the Presidential Villa.
