•Gunmen

Gunmen at the weekend attacked the Makurdi residence of the lawmaker representing Logo- Ukum -Katsina Ala in the House of Representatives, Solomon Wombo.

It was gathered that about four gunmen stormed the house about 11.30pm on April 6 by scaling the fence, reports The Nation.

While trying to cut through the barbwire, the noise attracted the house keeper who came out and was threatened if he made noise.

They asked after the lawmaker’s whereabout but the house keeper said he was not around. They also demanded the key into the main house, but the house keeper said the federal lawmaker had gone with the key.

The hoodlums got angry and beat the house keeper to a pulp. They left him in his pool of his blood and ransacked part of the building and stole anything in sight when they could not access the main house.

The lawmaker confirmed the incident in a telephone chat, and the police are said to be investigating the matter.
