A 23-year-old Saidi Musa Elemosho has been arrested for allegedly hacking his father to death.

Saidi was said to have killed his father because the deceased was fond of raining curses on him for ‘no just reason’, reports The Guardian.

The father, Chief Musa was the Elemosho of Share land in Ifelodun Local Government of Kwara State.

Saidi was dragged before Magistrate Muhammed Dasuki for the offence of culpable homicide.

He claimed that his father used to curse him without any reason.

A police source said Saidi reportedly got annoyed and attacked his late father with a cutlass.

The source hinted that Saidi hit his biological father several times till he died.

“After killing his father, he later escaped to the mountains in Share,” the source disclosed.

The police prosecutor, Seargent Abdullah Sanni, informed the court that the matter is not bailable because it is culpable homicide and urged the court to consider the motion exparte attached to the first instance report (FIR).

He sought the order for the remand of the defendant in the Correctional centre.

Magistrate Dasuki, in his ruling, agreed with the prosecutor and ordered that Saidi be remanded while the matter is adjourned to January 9, 2024.
