The deputy governors of Borno and Yobe States, Dr Umar Usman Kadafur and Idi Barde Gubana, respectively, met to discuss the sharing of remaining assets between the two states.
The meeting, held at the Government House in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, aimed to finalise the modalities for sharing the previously undiscovered assets, reports Saturday Independent.
The two states were created over 34 years ago, and while assets and liabilities were initially shared equally, the recent discovery of leftover assets necessitated this meeting.
The deputy governors expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship between the two states and pledged to work together to finalise the asset sharing.
As Chairmen of the Boundary Committees in their respective states, the Deputy Governors discussed the importance of maintaining good relations between Borno and Yobe states.
The meeting underscores the commitment of both states to uphold the spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding.
