•Justice Theresa Chikeka

Imo Chief Judge Justice Theresa Chukwuemeka-Chikeka has been granted an interim injunction on the allegation of falsification of age levelled against her by the House of Assembly.

Chukwuemeka-Chikeka dragged the Attorney-General of Imo State, Speaker and the National Judicial Council to court, reports The Nation.

In an exparte motion she filed on July 12, 2024, Justice Chukwuemeka-Chikeka prayed the court for an order of interim injunction restraining them especially the 3rd defendant, the Imo State House of Assembly from inviting or continuing to invite or summon her … in its letter of invitation to her dated July 10, 2024, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction filed in the suit, as well as “for such further or others as the court may deem fit in the circumstance.”

Granting her prayer, the court ordered that “an interim order of injunction be and is hereby granted restraining the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd defendants from inviting or continuing to invite or summon the plaintiff and also granted the applicant’s second prayer.”

The case has been adjourned to September 19, 2024 for further hearing.

Recall the Assembly Committee to investigate the age falsification allegedly found out from submissions sent in by all the other persons and institutions that indeed the chief judge, Justice Chukwuemeka-Chikeka adjusted her date of birth from October 27, 1956 to October 27, 1958.
