Hajj: Date announced for intending pilgrims in Abuja to ensure payment

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the approved fare for the 2026 Hajj at ₦8,244,813.67 and urged intending pilgrims to ensure full payment before December 31, 2025.

In a statement signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Lawal Aliyu, the Director of the Board, Mallam Kadiri Edah, emphasised that only those who complete payment before the deadline will secure seats for the holy pilgrimage.

“All payments must be made via bank draft, as no cash transaction will be entertained,” Edah stated, adding that deposits can be made, but full payment is required before the deadline.

The Director further explained that the early conclusion of payments would enable the Board to compile the list of intending pilgrims and remit funds to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on time, reports Daily Independent.

He also noted that those who had paid above the approved fare should forward their bank account details for a refund, stressing that all refunds would be made directly into the pilgrims’ accounts.

For pilgrims who have already completed their payments, Edah advised them to submit their international passports and completed forms to their respective Area Officers to process travel documents before the deadline.

Reassuring pilgrims of quality service delivery, Edah pledged that the Board remains committed to providing the best welfare services for FCT contingents in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
