•Tinubu and Uzodimma

President Bola Tinubu, state governors, ministers, National Assembly members and other prominent Nigerians are expected in Owerri for the second term inauguration of Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, disclosed that the presidency had confirmed the attendance of President Tinubu to the ceremony, reports Daily Sun.

Emelumba, who is also the chairman of the publicity subcommittee of the inauguration committee said many governors and some former presidents were equally expected.

According to the Commissioner, owing to the pan-Nigeria disposition of Governor Uzodimma, traditional rulers from across the country would also grace the event.

He announced that because of the quality of guests being expected, security had been beefed up in and around Owerri.

Emelumba, however, appealed to residents of the state to accord their traditional hospitality to all the guests attending the inauguration ceremonies.

The swearing in of Governor Uzodimma at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri was preceded by a thanksgiving Mass at Maria Assumpta Cathedral, yesterday.

There would be a state banquet at Government House Owerri immediately after the inauguration.

Meanwhile, Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has described the second term inauguration of Governor Uzodimma as a testimony of his progressive leadership style in the last four years.

“I am happy that the excellent hallmarks of leadership demonstrated by your administration in the last four years are receiving a resounding appreciation by the good people of Imo State as demonstrated through their overwhelming votes to you during the last governorship election in the state.

“I feel elated to receive the letter of invitation to your second tenure inauguration and swearing-in ceremonies slated for January 15.”

In a congratulatory letter to Uzodimma on his inauguration for a second term, the minister also noted that the solidarity of Imo State and the South East to the cause of the Renewed Hope agenda of President Tinubu’s administration were evidence of their “common vision for a prosperous and progressive state that shines forth in the comity of states.”

He said the overwhelming support the people of Imo State gave Uzodimma for a second term in office is a testimony of the excellent hallmarks of leadership demonstrated by his administration in the last four years.

“The increasing solidarity of your state, and indeed South East, to the cause of the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Tinubu and their unflinching support to our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), are heart-warming evidence of their common vision for a prosperous and progressive state that shines forth in the comity of states.

“It is my pleasure, therefore, to offer my profound felicitations to you on this auspicious and historic moment of your renewed mandate as Governor of Imo State.

“I wish Your Excellency more glorious milestones as you step into the second term of your social contract with the good people of Imo State.

“Please, Your Excellency, accept always the assurances of the affectionate considerations, esteemed regards, and best wishes of my family, the management and staff of the Federal Ministry of Works. Once more, congratulations.”
