Super Falcons coach explains Oshoala’s omission, eyes Women Africa Cup of Nations glory

Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has shed light on his decision to leave Asisat Oshoala out of Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming double-header friendlies against Cameroon.

The omission of the 31-year-old forward, who has been in fine form for Saudi club Al-Hilal, raised eyebrows when Madugu unveiled his 25-player list last week.

Madugu explained that the choice was not a reflection of Oshoala’s lack of importance to the team but rather an opportunity to test other players, reports Complete Sports

“It is a friendly match, and it is important we give others the chance to show what they can do. We all know what Asisat brings to the team, but these games allow us to explore new options. She remains very much part of our plans,” he said.
