Abia at 34: Ohafia congratulates Otti, Abians

The FrontierThe FrontierAugust 28, 2025 1432 Minutes read0

•Governor Alex Otti of Abia State

The Ohafia Improvement Union (OIU) has congratulated the Abia State governor, Dr. Alex Otti, on the 34th anniversary of the creation of the state.

A press statement signed by the Interim President General of the Union, Chief Fab Uche, and the Secretary General, Barrister Uma Ntima, applauded Governor Otti for his exemplary leadership that has seen the state rediscovering her lost glory.

According to the statement, “This anniversary provides a moment for deep reflection on our journey as a State and also offers renewed hope for the future. For our Union, this year’s celebration is profoundly significant as it resonates with the new spirit of progress, transparency, and purposeful governance that your administration has brought to Abia State. We have watched with immense pride and satisfaction as you have diligently worked to redefine governance in the State.

“Your bold and visionary strides in infrastructural development, particularly the reconstruction of long-abandoned roads in Aba and other parts of the state, have been nothing short of revolutionary.

“Your commitment to the regular payment of salaries and pensions has restored the dignity of our civil servants and retirees, bringing immense relief to many families in Ohafia and beyond.

“Your Excellency, we specifically note and appreciate your inclusive approach to governance, which ensures that every zone, including Ohafia, feels the impact of your administration.

“Your dedication to security has created a more enabling environment for our farmers to return to their fields and for our businesses to thrive. It is in this spirit of renewed hope that we respectfully bring one critical issue to your urgent attention: the debilitating and prolonged lack of electricity in Ohafia LGA.

“Your Excellency, the restoration of public power supply is the singular catalyst that would unlock the immense economic potential of our homeland, boost small-scale industries, improve security, healthcare, and enhance the quality of life for our people. We passionately appeal that you use your good Office to urgently intervene and restore electricity to Ohafia, thereby complementing the other life-changing developments you have already initiated.

“We are confident that under your continued leadership, Abia State is on an irreversible path to sustainable development and prosperity.

“The Ohafia Improvement Union Inc. Worldwide pledges its continued support and cooperation to your government as you work tirelessly to rebuild our dear state.

“We pray to Almighty God to continue to grant you wisdom, good health, and divine strength as you pilot the affairs of our state.”
