Nigerian celebrities erupted in joyous celebration as the Super Eagles of Nigeria triumphed over South Africa on penalties to secure their spot in the AFCON final.

In a thrilling semi-final match held yesterday Wednesday, February 7, 2024, the Super Eagles vanquished the Bafana-Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalties, securing their place in the coveted final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Despite a fiercely contested game that ended 1-1 after extra time, the three-time champions displayed unwavering determination, reports Nigerian Tribune. They now await either hosts Ivory Coast or the Democratic Republic of Congo, who will clash later, in the ultimate showdown on Sunday.

A moment of tension arose when South Africa’s Mokoena netted the equalizer, momentarily dimming Nigeria’s hopes. However, their spirits soared once more as star forward Victor Osimhen seemed to seal the deal with a tap-in goal, only for it to be disallowed.

That followed electrifying moments of Nigerian fans as their beloved team marches closer to AFCON glory.

Singer Adekunle Gold was caught on camera alongside Tobi Bakre, Falz, and, their joy knew no bounds as they celebrated the team’s remarkable achievement.

In the midst of jubilant cheers and jubilation, there was the infectious energy.

One could witness the euphoria firsthand as Adekunle Gold, Tobi Bakre, Falz, and their companions exulted in the Super Eagles’ resounding victory.

Singer Teni added a touch of playful banter to the celebration by poking fun at South Africa with a rendition of the popular Amapiano song by Asake.
