The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man simply identified as Jeffrey for allegedly defiling his landlady’s 13-year-old daughter.
The incident, it was gathered, happened on Friday at an estate close to the Federal Government College in Abulomma, Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, reports Daily Independent.
It was learnt that the suspect who has a tailoring shop within the estate, lured the victim to the shop where he defiled her after promising to sew a new clothe for her.
It was gathered that the victim following the incident, reported what transpired to her mother, who reported the crime to the Amadi Police Division, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Our correspondent further learnt that a medical examination conducted on the victim by the Police confirmed that she was defiled.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, adding that he has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt for discreet investigation.
