Babies born from 2025: Seven things to know about ‘Generation Beta’

The FrontierThe FrontierJanuary 3, 2025 4711 Minutes read0

Babies born from 1 January 2025, and for the subsequent 14 years, will form the newest generational cohort, known as ‘Generation Beta.’

According to McCrindle, an Australian social research organisation led by generational analyst Mark McCrindle, Generation Beta is expected to constitute at least 16% of the global population by 2035, reports Nigerian Tribune.

Also, many Generation Beta individuals are predicted to live into the 22nd century, as babies born in 2025 will be 76 years old by the year 2101.

This article highlights seven key aspects of this emerging generation.

1. Definition and Timeline

Generation Beta comprises individuals born between 2025 and 2039. This generation succeeds Generation Alpha, which includes those born between 2010 and 2024.

2. Parents

The parents of Generation Beta will predominantly be younger millennials and members of Generation Z.

3. Technological Integration

Generation Beta will grow up in an era where technology is seamlessly integrated into daily life. Unlike previous generations, they will experience artificial intelligence and automation as standard features in education, work, and entertainment.

4. Environmental Challenges

This generation will confront significant challenges, including climate change, rapid urbanisation, and global population shifts, which will make sustainability a primary concern.

5. Educational Prospects

With advancements in technology, Generation Beta is expected to benefit from personalised and AI-driven educational methods, potentially revolutionising learning outcomes.

6. Historical Context

Born in a post-pandemic world, Generation Beta will perceive events like COVID-19 as historical milestones, shaping their understanding of public health and global collaboration.

7. Successor

Following Generation Beta, the subsequent generational cohort is expected to be Generation Gamma, comprising those born between 2040 and 2054.
