BREAKING: JAMB releases 2026 UTME mop-up results, begins candidate ranking

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement issued today, noting that candidates who sat for the examination can now access their results through the Board’s approved result-checking platforms.

According to him, the release of the mop-up results marks the completion of the examination process, paving the way for the next phase of admissions.

“With the successful conduct of the mop-up exercise and the publication of the results, the Board will proceed with the ranking of candidates,” Benjamin said.

He added that the printing of result slips required for admission processing is expected to commence before the end of the week.

The Board also expressed gratitude to candidates, parents, and other stakeholders for their understanding and cooperation throughout the examination period.

The mop-up examination was conducted on June 13, 2026, to accommodate candidates who were successfully verified during the main UTME but were unable to sit for the test due to technical challenges, biometric verification problems, or other disruptions at their examination centres.

The 2026 UTME was conducted in April, with more than two million candidates participating in the nationwide examination.

JAMB has since released the results, retained the minimum admission cut-off marks at 150 for universities and 100 for polytechnics, and opened its portal for candidates seeking to change their course or institution.
