About three minutes after nursery, primary and secondary school students were evacuated from a four-storey building in Lagos, the structure collapsed.
The building, located at 11 Adudatu Street, behind County Hospital in the Aguda axis of Ogba, houses Yemco Nursery, Primary and Comprehensive College.

•The building before collapse
It came down at about midday today, reports The Cable.
Earlier, wooden planks fell off the roof. And an alarm was raised. The school authorities were alerted, and the evacuation began.
Few minutes after they left the building, it collapsed.
A resident said: “The students narrowly escaped the incident. It was just about three minutes after they were evacuated from the building that the structure collapsed.”

•Crowd at the scene of the collapse
The resident added that the structure had not shown obvious signs that it was about to give way.
However, another eyewitness, Taiwo Ridwan, told same media house: “At first, the house started cracking little by little. The window frames had already fallen apart.
“After some minutes, the cement body of the house began peeling off. Not long after that, the building just sank.”

Officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service have secured the scene. And no casualty had been reported at the time of filing this report.
