The United Kingdom Government has officially opened applications for the 2026 Chevening Scholarships, offering fully funded master’s degree opportunities at universities across the UK to outstanding professionals and emerging leaders worldwide.

According to the UK government, applications will run from August 4, to October 6, 2026.

The programme targets individuals with strong leadership potential, excellent networking skills, and a clear commitment to driving positive change in their communities and beyond.

Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations, the Chevening Scholarship provides recipients with access to world-class education, global professional networks, and lifelong membership in the Chevening alumni community.

The Chevening Scholarship is the UK Government’s flagship international scholarship programme. It supports talented professionals to undertake a one-year taught master’s degree at eligible universities across the United Kingdom.

Since its launch in 1983, the programme has supported over 60,000 professionals from more than 140 countries and territories, many of whom now occupy leadership roles in government, business, academia, and civil society.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive a fully funded package that includes:

Full tuition fees for an eligible master’s degree programme

Monthly living allowance

Return economy airfare to the United Kingdom

Arrival and departure allowances

Travel grants for approved Chevening events

Access to exclusive networking opportunities

Membership in the global Chevening alumni network

The scholarship is open to professionals who:

Demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills

Show potential to contribute to sustainable development and global progress

Possess excellent networking and relationship-building abilities

HOW TO APPLY 

Interested candidates should:

*Visit the official Chevening application portal

*Carefully review all eligibility requirements

*Select eligible master’s degree courses at UK universities

*Complete the online application form

*Submit all required information and supporting documents before the deadline

*Applicants are advised to clearly outline their leadership experience, career ambitions, and the impact they plan to make after completing the programme.
