Cambodia denies ordering Africans to leave country, calls viral notice fake

The FrontierThe FrontierMay 29, 2026 570 Minutes read0

•Cambodian Head of State, King Norodom Sihamoni

Cambodia has dismissed reports claiming it ordered all African nationals to leave the country, describing the circulating notice as false and misleading.

According to authorities, the viral message being shared online did not come from any official government source.

The Ministry of Interior clarified that no policy has been introduced targeting Africans —or any foreign group — for removal from Cambodia.

Officials further stressed that the country remains open to foreigners for business, tourism, and work, provided they comply with immigration regulations.

The government said the claim originated from misinformation spreading on social media, which falsely suggested a deadline for Africans to exit the country.

Authorities warned that such false reports are capable of causing unnecessary panic and distorting the country’s image.

In summary, Cambodian officials have firmly denied issuing any mass exit order, insisting the report is completely untrue.
