Direct Entry: JAMB extends registration by 2 weeks

The FrontierThe FrontierMarch 24, 2024 3691 Minutes read0

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the extension of the 2024 Direct Entry (DE) registration by two weeks.

JAMB explained that the reason for the decision was to enable all candidates desirous of direct entry registration to do so seamlessly.

It also noted that extension became necessary following the challenges being faced by some candidates in going through some of the security screening measures put in place to arrest the rampant and embarrassing cases of fake Advanced level certificates being paraded by some candidates.

JAMB spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement, yesterday, apologized to the candidates for the inconveniences, and pledged that going forward, the process would be made more user-friendly.

He added: “However, in doing this, the Board will not compromise on its avowed determination to ensure that candidates, whose certificates were dubiously acquired are prevented from benefiting from such certificates.
“It is also to be noted that candidates, whose certificate-issuing institution are among those on the list of institutions that have not verified their certificates despite repeated requests, would not be allowed to register without doing the needful.”

JAMB commenced the 2024 DE registration on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, and was supposed to run till Thursday, March 28, 2024. But had to extend the registration window by two weeks from Wednesday, March 28, 2024, thus bringing the registration to a close on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
