Eid-el-Fitr: Police issue safety advisory

The Kaduna State Police Command has rolled out extensive security arrangements across the state ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, assuring residents of a safe and peaceful festive period.

In a press statement today, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, said tactical commanders, intelligence operatives, and other personnel have been deployed to strategic locations, including Eid prayer grounds, markets, recreational centres, and major highways.

The move, according to the police, is aimed at preventing any security breaches before, during, and after the celebrations.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, said the Command is committed to ensuring a hitch-free celebration and urged residents to cooperate with security agencies.

As part of its safety advisory, the police reiterated a strict ban on the use of knockouts, fireworks, and other explosive materials during the festivities.

Parents and guardians were specifically warned to discourage their children and wards from engaging in such activities, noting that violators would be arrested and prosecuted.

The Command also called on members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements, persons, or objects to the nearest police station or relevant security agency.

While congratulating Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, CP Muhammad prayed for peace, unity, and prosperity in Kaduna State and across Nigeria.

He further wished residents a joyful and incident-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
