Ethiopian Airlines begins second daily flight on Abuja–Addis Ababa route

The FrontierThe FrontierOctober 29, 2025 1360 Minutes read0

Ethiopian Airlines yesterday evening commenced its second daily flight frequency into the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, marking another milestone in its expanding operations in Nigeria.

The new flight, ET937, touched down at about 7:26 p.m. and was received with a ceremonial water salute by airport authorities, reports The Guardian.

With this addition, the airline will now operate three weekly evening flights from Abuja, complementing its existing daily midday service.

According to the airline, the new service, ET957, will depart Abuja at 10:00 p.m. and arrive in Addis Ababa at 5:00 a.m., offering passengers faster and more convenient connections to key destinations across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and South America, including Dubai, Tel Aviv, São Paulo, Johannesburg, and Nairobi.

With the new schedule, Ethiopian Airlines now operates a total of 35 weekly flights between Nigeria and Ethiopia.

The breakdown includes 14 weekly flights from Lagos, 10 from Abuja, seven from Kano, and three from Enugu.

The expanded flight frequency is expected to enhance travel convenience, boost trade and tourism between Nigeria and Ethiopia, and further strengthen Addis Ababa’s position as a major connecting hub for African and international routes.
