Faisal Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, the eldest son of former Kaduna State Governor, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has tragically died in a car accident.

The incident occurred on yesterday evening along the Kaduna-Zaria Expressway, reports Sunday Tribune.

A source close to the family, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the details.

“The accident happened along the Kaduna-Zaria highway this evening, Faisal was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was unfortunately declared dead. His father was present at the hospital, and the body has since been taken home for burial preparations,” the source said.

Faisal, a qualified engineer, had an impressive academic background. He began his education at Kaduna International School before attending Adesoye College in Offa, Kwara State, for his secondary education.

He later pursued his undergraduate and Master’s degrees at the University of Greenwich, London, and had recently enrolled for a PhD at the same institution.

Efforts to reach Senator Makarfi, who also served as the former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for comments were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
